Gingerbread dog treat fun

Well today was rainy and nasty outside, so I decided to take the day to do some baking.  I made Gingerbread dog treats for my friends, family and my dogs!  It was a fun filled day of flour on my shirt, dough stuck to my fingers and sniffing dogs at my feet!  To make the day even better, I got a new stove the other day and it works amazing!

Here is the recipe for you all!  You can make a family day out of it!  Thank you for reading!  ENJOY!
4 cups Whole wheat flour
1 1/2 cup Old fashioned oats
3 tablespoons Powdered Ginger
1/2 teaspoon Cloves
1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
1 teaspoon Baking soda
4 large Eggs
1 cup Molasses
2/3 cup Olive oil
1/4 cup Honey

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  2. Mix whole wheat flour, old fashioned oats, powdered ginger, cloves, cinnamon, baking soda in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Add eggs, molasses, olive oil and honey.  Mix until blended.
  4. Divide dough into 2 balls, roll out dough to thickness of your liking.  Now start cutting your shapes (gingerbread men, christmas tree, candy cane) out of the dough.
  5. Place gingerbread men on cookie sheets.
  6. Bake 325 degrees for 20-30 mins.
  7. When you take them out of the oven they may feel slightly soft to the touch, but they will harden as they cool down.
  8. Let the treats cook at least a half an hour or until they are not to the touch before serving to your dogs.
  9. Repeat rolling out the dough, cutting shapes and baking them until dough is gone.
  10. Now enjoy your dogs chow down on the treats!!
